Hola Rooms has been reborn as a new “Hostal Boutique” concept from the renovated and renamed Hostal el Bao with more than 50 years of history. The Hostal is located in a heritage building protected by Madrid City Hall both for the facade and the interior, it’s construction date back to the 17^th and 18^th century, originally, built as a carriage house.

Calle Espada (Espada Street) belongs to the heritage site of La Cerca de Filipe II (castle walls of Felipe II), famous for containing the so-called “Casa del Inquisidor” (house of the Inquisitor). Here fencing classes were taught, attended by famous students such as the Lope de Vega family. This street became the place for gentleman to test their swordsmanship in duels.

In 1918 the famous poet and children books’ author Gloria Fuertes was also born on this street. Her poetry explored themes such as defend equality between men and women, pacifism and environmental protection

Host was so nice and friendly. It's brand new so the facilities are extremely good, amazing shower beautiful soft towels and snuggly beds! Don't be disheartened by the outside of the building, it has been renovated to a very high quality. Great looking room with modern furnishings. We received water on our arrival and there was a coffee machine in the room. Location is perfectly central. Highly recommend this place. Thank you for an amazing stay Hola Rooms!
